The International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE) provides a big opportunity to build awareness with the animal food industry and stakeholders of the great work the Institute for Feed Education and Research is doing and to establish relationships that can lead to commitments for project support. As many of you know, IPPE presents a one-stop shop for the feed, animal production and processing industries. For IFEEDER, that means presentations, brand presence, industry and stakeholder meetings and media interviews.
At January's expo, I had the opportunity to:
According to my Garmin and the AFIA staff tally, that's what you can do in a 28-mile journey at IPPE.
Each year, the AFIA Equipment Manufacturers Committee (EMC) and IFEEDER collaborate to provide $35,000 in scholarships for university students with interests in animal nutrition. At IPPE, Feed and Grain hosted a reception that raised $4,100 for the scholarship fund, almost doubling the proceeds from the 2023 event.
Terry Medemblik, president of Walinga, won an iPad Air, furnished by?Maxi-Lift Inc., as part of the raffle drawing. Thank you to all who joined us at this event and participated in this important scholarship program!
Feed Industry Must Build Own ESG Journey: During IPPE, IFEEDER’s Board of Trustees Chair Mike Gauss, president of Kent Animal Nutrition, and IFEEDER Executive Director Lara Moody participated in the AFIA symposium “Feed Your ESG: How Feed Will Help Hit Sustainability Targets.” Insights into Kent’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts as well as IFEEDER’s efforts to help the feed industry support its customers’ sustainability goals are highlighted in the World-Grain article.
Real P3 Podcast - Sustainability Series: Casey Bradley and Mitch Rowland host the Real P3 Podcast, a resource for swine professionals worldwide. In a new sustainability series, Moody talks about the institute's mission, the challenges industry leaders face on sustainability and the innovative strategies they employ to overcome these challenges. She also highlighted some of the key initiatives IFEEDER has undertaken to promote sustainability in the animal food industry. She emphasizes how IFEEDER’s work contributes to global food security and environmental conservation, highlighting the critical role the feed industry plays in our everyday lives.
Check out our new look at IFEEDER.org. As part of IFEEDER's strategy to brand awareness and engage more partners across the animal feed and pet food value chain, we recently launched a new website. Take a look and let us know what you think.
For every $1 IFEEDER invests in research and education projects, $5 is leveraged from other sources. All donations go directly toward projects, as IFEEDER's administrative costs are borne by American Feed Industry Association, so your donations go even further.
