The champion for safe and sustainable feed and food production through education and research.
Founded in 2009 by the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), the Institute for Feed Education & Research is a 501 (c)(3) public charity. IFEEDER supports critical education and research initiatives that assure consumers a safe, healthy and sustainable food supply.
Less than two percent of the U.S. population is engaged in food and agriculture production today. At the same time, many activists are telling our story to consumers and policymakers. This impacts the way our businesses, and more importantly how America’s farmers and ranchers, manage operations. Now is the time to step up and support IFEEDER.
IFEEDER serves as champion for the animal food industry, which is a critical link in the ever-evolving food supply chain.
IFEEDER focuses its work in two primary areas:
- Funding critical animal feed and pet food research to support AFIA’s legislative and regulatory positions; and
- Developing appropriate messaging to policymakers, consumer influencers and stakeholders, which highlights the industry’s very positive contributions to the availability of safe, wholesome and affordable food, and preservation of our natural resources.
IFEEDER is best defined by its successful projects in the areas of research and education.
IFEEDER is managed by its Board of Trustees, and project initiatives are vetted and managed by either the Research Committee or the Marketing and Education committee. One-hundred percent of donations made to IFEEDER are used to support its projects.
